NSS Units of G.G.M. Science College, Jammu organized a peace rally in connection with the celebration of Gandhi Jyanti today on 2nd October 2016. The peace rally was flagged off by the Nodal Principal of Jammu Division College Dr. Ajeet Angral in the presence of Dr. Rajinder Singh and Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Programme officers of the College. The rally started from GGM Science College, Jammu in the morning at 6:30 AM and passed through Canal Road, Bakshi Nagar, Medical College, K.C Theatre and Jewel Chowk finally culminated at G.G.M. Science College, Jammu. Nearly 100 volunteers participated in the rally. The Police Department had made all necessary security arrangements enroute.
After the rally, Programme Officers and the NSS Volunteers led by the Principal paid their homage to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by paying floral tributes. Principal while appreciating the NSS units and the programme officers for organizing the peace rally, asked the students to become real followers of Gandhi ji by following his teachings in a day to day life. Mr. Karan on wheel chair, Mr. Ritesh Choudhary dressed as Mahatma Gandhi and “Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram” sung by the girls volunteers were the star attraction of the programme.
The rally was coordinated by Dr. Rajinder Singh and Dr. Vinod Bakshi, NSS Programme Officers of the College.
