Admission Process |
|
 |
The entire
process of admission of the students to
B.Sc. / BCA Sem – I is online, making
it student friendly, transparent and
hassle free. |
 |
The eligible
students, desirous of seeking admission
to B. Sc. / BCA semesters I are required
to go through the guidelines, contained
in this Admission Brochure, for
following the online admission process. |

The online
admission process shall be completed in
2 phases. Before proceeding for OnLine
admission process keep your
Passport size Photograph in jpg/jpeg
in the range of 6 – 50 KB (size of 3.5cm
x4.5 cm) and Specimen Signature ready in
soft copy. |

Phase I |
|
|
 |
To start with the process of submission
of application form for admission, the
student should visit the website
www.jkhighereducation.nic.in. and
click the ‘JAMMU COLLEGES ONLINE
ADMISSION’. |
|
|
 |
Now go through the ‘Must Read Instruction’ containing, eligibility and Admission Process. Click the button ‘I have read instruction’ and then click the ‘Apply’ button. This will open your Application Form. |
|
|
 |
Enter your
personal and academic details and the
subject combinations preferences very
carefully in the Application Form.
(Subject combination once
allotted cannot be changed
after the admission) |
|
|
 |
Upload your
Passport size Photograph and Specimen
Signature |
|
|
 |
Check your
details before you click the ‘Submit’
button |
|
|
 |
On successful
submission of your Application form,
acknowledgement message containing your
name and Form No will appear on the
screen of the computer. Keep record of
this acknowledgement message. |
|
|
 |
Click
the ‘Print Application Form’ button and
get the printout. |
|
|
|
Note: |
|
|
|
Student is free to apply for admission
in more than one college. |
|
|
|
Students need not to submit the hard
copy of Application Form or any document
in the college during I phase. |
|
|
|
The admission of the students is liable
to be cancelled in the event of wrong
information furnished by him / her in
the Application Form submitted online. |
|
|
|
Students can “Edit” their particulars in
the application form before the last
date for submission of forms. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Phase II |
|
|
 |
The select list of students for
admission will be drawn up by the
college admission committee. The
selection status and the subject
combination allotted to a student will
be sent to him /her through e-mail. The
select list will also be displayed on
the college Notice Board |

|
 |
Student can gain
quick access to his / her selection
status also after visiting the website:
www.jkhighereducation.nic.in. |
|
|
 |
On entering your
‘Form No and D. O. B’ your pre – filled
Admission Form will open up wherein
the student should check for the
entries contained in his / her
admission form including the stream
allotted. |
|
|
 |
The student
should now take the printout of the
submitted admission form on A4 paper by
clicking the ‘Print’. |
|
|
 |
Now click the
‘Print Challan’ button to get the
printed copy of the admission fee
Bank Challan |
|
|
 |
Sign the declaration given on
the form and also seek the signature of
your parent / guardian agreeing with the
declaration.
|
|
|
 |
Enclose
all the documents as required along with
affidavit / affidavits, duly attested,
and the bank challan, with the signed
admission form. Also attach Photo
Admission Card, that is available with
the Admission Brochure, after pasting
your recent passport size
photograph and completing other
details given therein. Submit the form,
complete in all respects, in the college
for verification of the documents and
the details contained in the form. Once
approved by the admission committee, the
student shall be required to deposit the
admission fee in the bank, facility
which is available in the college
campus. |

Eligibility Criteria |
|
|
 |
Students, who are State
Subjects of J&K and have passed Higher
Secondary Part II examination (class 12th) of
the J&K Board of School Education or an
examination recognized as its equivalent
by the University of Jammu, are eligible for
seeking admission in B. Sc. / BCA– SEM - I
(session 2016 – 17). |

 |
The wards of Central
Govt. Employees, Army and Para-Military
personnel serving in J&K can also seek
admission. |
|
|
 |
Students seeking
admission to Semester I of B. Sc. programme
should have secured minimum of 45% of marks in
class XII examination. For admission to
Semester -I of BCA programme, students
should have secured minimum of 50 % marks in
12th class for general category and 45% in
case of SC / ST. |
|
|
 |
Students belonging to
reserved categories as listed in SRO – 126
Dated 28-06-1994 and 294 of 2005 shall get the
benefit of 5% marks while drawing up the merit
list for admission. However, the benefit of
reserved category will be only considered on
the basis of documentary proof to the effect
of belonging to a particular reserved
category. Under process certificate will not
be considered for purposes of this benefit. |

No student whose result
of Higher Secondary Part II has been modified
after re-evaluation shall be admitted to the
Semester-I of B. Sc. /BCA after the expiry of
the last date of admission. |
|
|
 |
The admission of
students, with break in their academic career,
will not be considered. Such of the students
may be considered by the Principal provided
the latter feels satisfied about the reasons
of the break there of and also subject to the
availability of the seats. Such of the
students with break in their academic career
will have to attach the affidavit along with
the other certificates as per the format given
in Annexure II, in addition
to affidavit given in Annexure I
and Annexure IV |

Re-appear / compartment cases in 12th class
are not eligible for admission to B. Sc. / BCA
– Semester I. |
|
|
 |
Student will not be
granted admission if he comes from an area
that does not fall within the catchment area
of this college without the production of NOC
from the college of this residential area. |
|
|
 |
Student who after
seeking admission completes the minimum
required attendance in the college but either
fails or does not appear in the University
Examination is not eligible for admission to
the same class in the next session. |

Admission Rules |

|
|
The admission to B. Sc. / BCA Semester I is
based on merit of student in his qualifying
examination (12th class) and the select lists
are drawn up by the college on the basis of
seats available in different subject
combinations. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The selected students have to submit the
admission form in the college along with all
the documents and deposit the admission
fee before the last date notified for the
purpose. Student failing to deposit the fee in
time shall forfeit the claim for admission and
that seat shall be allotted to next student in
merit list. Students seeking admission to B. Sc.
Sem I are permitted to opt for such of the
subject as were studied by him / her in 12th
class. However such a restriction does not exist
in respect of students desirous of pursuing
degree programme in BCA or with Bio-technology,
Computer Application, Electronics, Functional
English, Geology, or Geography as part of their
subject combination. |
